Preface
Welcome Message for the 17th JSH International Symposium

It is a great honor to serve as the President of the 17th JSH International Symposium. I am pleased to announce that the symposium will be held on May 14th and 15th, 2027, at the Bankoku Shinryokan in Okinawa.
The main theme of this symposium is "Chemo-Free & Treatment-Free." In recent years, the rapid advancement of molecular targeted therapies has dramatically transformed treatment strategies for hematological malignancies. We have entered an era where "Chemo-Free" treatments and "Treatment-Free Remission (TFR)"—achieving sustained clinical remission without ongoing medication—are no longer distant ideals but realistic clinical goals. This symposium aims to invite leading researchers from Japan and overseas to engage in intensive, face-to-face discussions on these cutting-edge developments.
Our venue, Bankoku Shinryokan, is a symbolic location for international exchange, famously known as the site of the G8 Kyushu-Okinawa Summit. Surrounded by the beautiful emerald seas of Okinawa, I hope this inspiring environment will facilitate the sharing of the latest translational research born from industry-academic collaborations. Furthermore, I sincerely hope this symposium provides a valuable platform for young researchers—the future of hematology—to envision the medicine of tomorrow from a global perspective.
I look forward to welcoming you all in Okinawa during the beautiful early summer to discuss the future of hematology together.
Naoto Takahashi
President
The 17th JSH International Symposium
