Preface

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to warmly invite you to the 15th International Symposium of the Japanese Society of Hematology (JSH), to be held on May 16-17, 2025. The symposium will take place at the beautiful Karatsu Seaside Hotel in Karatsu, Saga, Japan, under the theme "Novel Therapeutics for Hematological Disorders." Our symposium aims to delve into the latest advancements in treatments for both malignant and benign hematologic disorders, providing a comprehensive understanding of their basic and clinical aspects.

We will commence the symposium with a Poster Flush Talk, where young participants will have the opportunity to present a brief one-minute overview of their posters. The agenda includes joint sessions with JSH-the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and JSH-the European Hematology Association (EHA), two Asian Sessions, a Plenary Session, four Special Sessions dedicated to specific diseases, and an Oral Session featuring presenters selected from the poster session.

Karatsu City, situated in Saga Prefecture on Japan's Kyushu island, is celebrated for its historical charm and natural beauty. Attractions include the majestic Karatsu Castle with its panoramic views of Karatsu Bay and the traditional craftsmanship of Karatsu ware pottery. Visitors can also explore the scenic Niji-no-Matsubara pine forest and the stunning coastal landscapes. Karatsu City offers a rich tapestry of history, traditions, and picturesque settings, making it a captivating destination for an authentic Japanese experience.
